The late George Forty served for 30 years in the Royal Tank Regiment before becoming curator of the RAC Tank Museum at Bovington in 1980 where he modernized the museum, tripling its size, and creating an establishment that rivalled any others. A prolific author, his earliest works—over 50 years ago—were on the Desert Rats and Afrika Korps.
